Who I am

This website, danjahn.com (the “Site”), is operated by Dan Jahn, a United States–based executive coaching, speaking, and consulting practice (“I”, “me”, or “my”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information I collect through the Site, how I use it, who I share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information I collect

I collect personal information only when you choose to provide it, or when limited technical data is generated by your use of the Site:

  • Contact and application forms — your name, email address, the topic of your inquiry, and the contents of your message or application.
  • Leadership Assessment — your name, email address, your responses to the assessment statements, and your resulting trait scores, so I can deliver and retain your results.
  • Newsletter and Leadership Briefings subscriptions — your name, email address, and, if you opt into the printed edition, your postal mailing address.
  • Booking information — if you schedule a call, the scheduling details you provide through Cal.com (name, email, selected time, and any notes you include).
  • Payment information — payments are processed externally by Stripe. I never receive or store your full card number; I receive only confirmation of payment, the product purchased, and your billing contact details.
  • Usage data — privacy-focused, aggregated analytics about how the Site is used (pages visited, referrers, approximate region, device type) collected via Vercel Analytics. This data is not used to identify you personally.

How I use your information

  • To respond to your inquiries and applications and to provide coaching, speaking, and related services.
  • To score, deliver, and retain your Leadership Assessment results, and to follow up with you about them.
  • To send the newsletters or briefings you have subscribed to, by email or by post.
  • To schedule and prepare for calls you book.
  • To process payments, prevent fraud, and maintain business records required by law.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve its content and performance.

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

Email and postal communications

You will only receive marketing emails or printed mailings if you have asked for them — for example, by taking the assessment, subscribing to the briefings, or contacting me. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can stop postal mailings at any time by emailing me. Transactional messages (such as assessment results you requested, booking confirmations, or payment receipts) are sent as part of providing the service.

Service providers

I use a small number of carefully chosen service providers to run the Site and the practice. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function, and each processes data under its own privacy policy:

  • Vercel — website hosting and privacy-focused analytics.
  • Supabase — secure storage of form submissions, assessment results, and subscriber records.
  • Resend — transactional and subscription email delivery.
  • Stripe — payment processing (external; card data is handled entirely by Stripe).
  • Cal.com — call scheduling.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — spam and abuse protection on forms.

I may also disclose information if required by law, to protect my legal rights, or as part of a business transfer (such as a sale or reorganization of the practice), in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

Cookies and analytics

The Site keeps cookies to a minimum. Analytics are collected without advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Embedded third-party services (such as the Cal.com scheduler or Stripe checkout) may set their own cookies when you use them. See the Cookie Policy for details and your options.

Data retention

I keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes described above: inquiries and applications for as long as our conversation or engagement is active plus a reasonable follow-up period; assessment results so you can refer back to them; subscriber lists until you unsubscribe; and payment and business records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can request earlier deletion at any time (see “Your rights”).

Security

I use reputable infrastructure providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and database-level protections to safeguard your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect the personal information I hold.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under state privacy laws such as the Colorado Privacy Act and the California Consumer Privacy Act, or the GDPR if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom — you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal information I hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • Receive your information in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@danjahn.com. I will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and will never penalize you for exercising your rights.

International visitors

The Site is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Children

The Site and my services are directed to professionals and are not intended for children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the Site, contact me and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page, and continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
